I loved Star Test too. Maybe one day ‘the man’ will deem it cool enough for a revival.

Star Test was brilliant because celebrities were forced to answer real questions. These days it’s so carefully managed, the only time a celeb appears on anything is when they have something to plug. They don’t get asked questions like “when was the last time you lied” and “do you feel guilt?” any more…
Actually from watching it, it’s also the power of silence. The interviewer asks one question and then leaves them to stew.

It’s a subtle thing, but one of the things that really makes it feel different. There’s no follow-ons or helping out the guest are there… No fear of TV silence…
