Oh My, That’s Lovely

Magnetic Ink, Process video from flight404 on Vimeo.

Beautiful computer generated art, made by the supremely talented Flight 404 using Processing. Personally I think the whole thing is really helped by the use of non-computer music.

If you liked that, here’s another.

If you get the opportunity to see Robert Hodgin of Flight404 talk at a conference, take it. I saw him at Flash on the Beach last year and it was mind blowing. Beware though, I just felt like packing it all in after it.

There’s no doubt Robert is very talented and the work is absolutely beautiful, but the work is not interactive and he’s using processing as a rendering platform only.

I’m not sure you should pack it in just yet… Rendered pieces of art have always been richer than anything you can do in Flash or Processing (interactively).

I’m just wondering if it wouldn’t be easier to create that sort of stuff with a more appropriate tool (such as Maya) if that’s the result you want to get.

Wow, Flight 404 bring beauty to dirty hairy balls. That must deserve a special award?
