Forgive Me Rock Father For I Have Sinned

Dear Rockers

Dearrockers.org is great. They say:

Many of us own music that we didn’t pay for. We don’t feel guilty about shafting the record company, but what about the musicians themselves?

Here’s how it works:

1. Pick a musician
2. Write them a letter
3. Scan or photograph the letter and send it to us
4. Mail off the letter along with $5
5. Enjoy your new, guilt-free life

There’s some great stuff on there, and most of it feels pretty genuine. As if people have really gone out and done it!

Dear Billy Joel,
I should tell you that, about a decade ago, I taped some of the songs from your “greatest hits” album off a friend’s tape. The songs “My Life” & “Moving Out” served as the perfect inspirational soundtrack for a 20-year old aspiring actor, just beginning her career in the Big Apple.

Now where do I start… Dear Aaron Spectre…

Go visit dearrockers.org today and make your peace with the artists you love.

Well, I did solicit my friends to make some letters to get started, but they did so without any direction from me. Hence the dubious collages. Thanks for the linkage.
