Can you get more funner than the funnest?

I was bitching to Asi about how I think ‘fun’ is a rubbish word and massively overused in terms of describing interactive stuff: A ‘fun’ way to do your tax return, a ‘fun’ quiz for pet-owners, a ‘fun’ way of exploring genocide. It’s just such a rubbish nothing word.

So I fired up my Thesaurus widget just to see if it had any genius substitutions. It didn’t. But at the end of the definition I saw this:

So, we should never use the word ‘fun’ in documents (suits me just fine). But, according to Apple’s Thesaurus, I can use the terms funner and funnest in informal contexts (sparingly). So I’m going to…
