Help me find someone
by Iain on September 22, 2006

Not in a Where’s Wally kind of way!
I need to find someone for a project I’m working on. It’s a type of person I’ve not really worked with before. A kind of person that I don’t know where to find and how to reach them. So maybe, just maybe, the blogosphere can help me…
I’m trying to find someone who can write really strong interactive narrative. The kind of person who would be able to write a stonking game script. It’s for a sort of interactive mystery adventure thing (I can’t give away much more than that right now).
If anyone knows where I could find such a person, or if you are such a person please let me know…

Didn’t you mention this in London?? Good luck – yikes…
I forgot to send you the link the Up Your Budget ‘Treasure Hunt’ campaign I mentioned to you.

B.L. Ochman, who worked on the Budget thing, *may* be able to help. She’s NYC based,

Hi Iain,
We do lots of work with a freelance copywriter called Tom Dean who I reckon would be good at that (unless “interactive game script copywriter” is a very specific profession I’ve never heard of?).
Not sure what he’s up to at the moment, but here’s his email:
thomaskdean@gmail.com
Cheers.

Surely it just means “Skype for Mac” 2.0?

Hullo! I got sent your link for your search for an interactive game script writer. Although I am not in London (I moved back to Canada after living there for 7 years) I am very much up for discussing your project. I’ve a background in literature (English Degree), worked in London on the IT scene and came back to Canada to make a go of writing in the games market. I’ve done some work using Bioware’s Neverwinter Nights engine but have still to make a big splash. Send me an email and we can set up a time to chat about your project?

hello – a friend of mine posted this link to me. I’m wondering if I’m the type of person you’re looking for. See blog at http://timwright.typepad.com

Hey Iain,
Got this link sent from a friend, so I guess your strategy’s working. I’m a writer who just finished the Hyper Island digital media program in Sweden, with a script for a game as my final project. I have a background in writing and directing for theater and film, and in LARP design – my specialty being interactive narrative (what are the odds?) My portfolio isn’t really up to date, but maybe it’ll give you an idea of what I’m about… Oh, and I’m in Stockholm right now, in case that matters. Interested? Drop me a line :)

[...] Oh, and if you’ve been paying attention this is the game that I was trying to find a scriptwriter for ages ago! And thanks to some helpful blog readers we eventually found Tim Wright, who was great to work with. Hooray for blogs! [...]
